Scott began his career at The Beasley Firm in 1977 by helping Jim Beasley Sr. research and write "Product Liability and the Unreasonably Dangerous Requirement." This textbook has been cited by numerous state courts and state Supreme Courts as an authoritative standard on product liablity law.

For the last 30 years, Scott has also functioned as the firm’s go-to lawyer in litigation regarding automobile claims and insurance, and has won many substantial judgements. He has years of experiencing handling auto accident cases involving roadway defects. He has also posted impressive awards for clients in cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, civil rights, and premises liability.

Scott has been recognized as one of Pennsylvania's "Super Lawyers." A recent case he litigated, Washington v. City of Lancaster et al. spurred significant changes in the way that the City of Lancaster Police Department transports K-9 police dogs. Scott was interviewed for his legal knowledge of dog bite law and litigation on the Comcast network's It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle. In the area of civil rights, Scott took on the Philadelphia Police Department and obtained a substantial settlement for the death of an unarmed man.

He also worked with Jim Beasley Sr. on landmark 1984 wrongful death case against the Philadelphia Housing Authority that resulted in an $8 million verdict based on PHA's failure to install smoke detectors in all of its units. The case was filed after a fire that resulted in the deaths of six children. After the verdict in Myers v. PHA, smoke detectors were installed in all PHA homes.

Scott also has given many lectures at Continuing Legal Education Programs for the National Business Institute, including "Trying the Wrongful Death Case in Pennsylvania: Strategies in Preparation and Vaulation," "Premises Liability: Preparation and Trial of a Difficult Case in Pennsylvania," and "Trying the Soft Tissue Injury Case in Pennsylvania." He is a graduate cum laude from the University of Massachussetts and received his law degree from the Villanova School of Law in 1976.
