The Death of Osama Bin Laden May Finally Close SOME Wounds that Have Been Open since 9/11
In 2003, The Beasley Firm obtained a $104 million verdict against Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Osama bin Laden, and the Republic of Iraq, on behalf of two families destroyed by the 9/11 attacks in New York. Our case was the only one in the world permitted to proceed to trial. When we first filed the case, many law firms, attorneys, and even judges thought that we would not be able to find sufficient evidence to support the case. Well, we did and we have the world's only 9/11 verdict. You can view the case here: Smith v. Republic of Iraq, et al.
Our successful verdict brought SOME closure and rest to our clients, yet it still left thousands of other families grief stricken and in limbo looking for some peace of mind or closure after the devastating losses they also endured on 9/11. It may have taken almost 10 years, but on May 1, 2011, the United States Navy Seals, after receiving approval from President Barack Obama, raided the fortress that was harboring Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad Pakistan and killed him.
The news of his death quickly became the 2011 version of "the shot heard around the world." Almost immediately, due to social media sites and mobile communications, everyone, in every nation heard of the news. People chanted "USA....USA", while others gathered at Ground Zero and other historic landmarks to rejoice. Not only were the family's of the innocent victims of the 9/11 attacks rejoicing, so were many other people in many different countries.
On behalf of me and the entire staff here at The Beasley Firm we congratulate the Navy Seals for finally closing many open wounds.
