Slade McLaughin wins $5 million for accident victim Slade McLaughlin wins $2.5 million on behalf of family of Teamster A true disciple of Jim Beasley Sr., Slade is driven by something bigger than love for the Almighty Buck. He is driven by a need to help people who deserve help, and to hold professionals and institutions responsible for their indifference and incompetence. Slade has won millions of dollars in medical malpractice cases since joining The Beasley Firm in 1994. Along with Jim Beasley Sr. and Jim Beasley Jr., Slade also worked tirelessly on the first World Trade Center lawsuit that successfully showed that Iraq had provided “material support” to bin Laden and al Qaeda in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. That lawsuit resulted in a $104 million judgment. Slade is a partner at The Beasley Firm, and his stature as a trial lawyer has been repeatedly recognized by his peers. Beginning in 2003, he was listed in five straight editions of The Best Lawyers in America. In 2004, he was honored as one of Pennsylvania's "Super Lawyers" in Philadelphia Magazine's "Super Lawyers" supplement. In 2005 and 2006, he was named to the top 100 Super Lawyers. And in 2007, Slade was named as one of the top 10 Super Lawyers in the state. He’s a 1979 graduate of Ursinus College and a 1982 graduate of the Villanova University School of Law, graduating in the top 15% of his class. Slade also has successfully completed Harvard Law School's Mediation Training Program for Lawyers. Slade spent the first ten years of his practice working as a lawyer for one of Philadelphia's larger medical malpractice defense firms, representing physicians, dentists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in professional liability claims. But he switched sides in 1994 after he was personally recruited by Jim Beasley, who admired Slade’s adventurous spirit, and usually referred to him as “Tiger.” Slade may be a member of the Mensa Society, but he also rides his Harley Davidson motorcycle, runs in the New York Marathon, and also enjoys skydiving, scuba diving, and bungee cord jumping. Slade has run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, and, along with Jim Beasley Jr., climbed to Mount Everest's Base Camp. |
