Michael Smerconish is of counsel to The Beasley Firm. He broadcasts one of the Philadelphia region’s most successful radio shows, The Michael Smerconish Show, on WPHT. His guests have ranged from President George W. Bush to radical lawyer William Kunstler. He has interviewed senators, union leaders, and victims of the 9-11 terror attacks,.

As an attorney with The Beasley Firm, he has focused on complex litigation ranging from complex tort matters to business litigation with a specialty in contracts cases.

Among his high-profile cases, he represented the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in an action against a music group and record company responsible for publishing an FOP photograph on the cover of an album that advocated the murder of police. Along with Jim Beasley, Sr., Michael represented the City of Rome in a contract dispute with the Barnes Foundation.

In the early 1990s, Michael was the Regional Administrator and Federal Housing Commissioner of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for Philadelphia Region III. In this capacity, he oversaw all HUD activities in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
