Jayne A. Piarulli

Out of 60,000 active New Jersey lawyers, only 1,534, or three percent, are certified as civil trial attorneys. Jayne is a member of this elite group. To become certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court, an attorney must demonstrate a substantial level of experience in civil trials, receive a favorable evaluation from judges and other attorneys familiar with her work, and pass an extensive written examination. Only attorneys who successfully complete this process are permitted to use the designation “Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney.” Jayne also holds the highest rating given by Martindale Hubbell. Her legal ability is rated by her peers as very high to preeminent, with the highest ethical standards.

Jayne has been a member of the Beasley Firm since 1987. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University in 1979, where she graduated Cum Laude. She graduated from Rutgers Law School in 1985. Her educational experience has proved useful in the medical malpractice cases and other complex litigation that she has handled.

Jayne has won many multi million dollar verdicts and settlements, such as $4.5 million for a schizophrenic young man in a state institution who was struck by another patient, and rendered a quadriplegic. She has represented babies and children severely injured by obstetrical malpractice and failure to diagnose serious medical diseases such as meningitis. She has represented and recovered substantial verdicts and settlements on behalf of women whose cancers were not diagnosed in a timely fashion, including $1.3 million for a young woman in her 30s who had undiagnosed breast cancer. Jayne also has obtained substantial settlements for victims paralyzed as a result of malpractice and industrial accidents. She also won a $1.2 million verdict on behalf of a Haddonfield nurse who was mistreated for a rare back condition and eventually had to be put into traction and endure fusion surgery.

Jayne is a member of the Bars of the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United State District Court of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. She is a Court appointed arbitrator for Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties. She has also served as Chairperson of the Philadelphia Disciplinary Committee.
