Beasley Firm wins obstetrical negligence case

Jim Beasley, Sr. and Marsha Santangelo tried a six week long medical negligence claim on behalf of a brain injured child. The suit involved obstetrical negligence which caused a mother to deliver her baby prematurely and that, after birth, another doctor caring for the baby in the delivery room misplaced a breathing tube, intended for the baby’s airway, directly into the esophagus. Prolonged oxygen deprivation ensued, resulting in severe permanent brain damage. The jury awarded $37 million.
